mountainfilm on tour
In 2019, for the fourth time, we are very excited to be bringing Mountainfilm on Tour to Cradle Mountain.
Established in 1979, Mountainfilm is dedicated to educating, inspiring and motivating audiences about environments, cultures, issues and adventures. Working at the nexus of filmmaking and action, its flagship event is the renowned Telluride Mountainfilm festival, a four-day event held each Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, Colorado. The festival has attracted leading documentary filmmakers, artists, photographers, conservationists, mountaineers, scientists, journalists and explorers from around the world to engage in the festival’s tag line of “celebrating indomitable spirit.”
In 2019, Mountainfilm on Tour will be presented by Stephen Burns, who works for Mountainfilm and lives and plays in Telluride, Colorado. He’s a direct link to one of the coolest festivals in the world, and can tell you all about the area, the films and the selection process.
Mountainfilm on Tour shares a selection of the films from the annual festival with audiences. Year-round and worldwide, the tour reaches over 60,000 people in over 100 locations.
Combining Mountainfilm on Tour with the One Year In Tasmania Adventure Film competition screening means in one night you are seeing some of the world's best adventure films alongside Tassie adventure at its best.
We’re also offering a Very Outdoorsy Person special screening in the Forest Yurt Cinema and Lounge on Saturday March 30 which includes dinner and a drink, cheese and films, plus great giveaways from our partners.
